Sabato 18 Giugno, “Toxic Europe” al Premio Ilaria Alpi

È pronto il documentario di inchiesta ‘Toxic Europe’:
la premiere sarà il 18 giugno al Premio Ilaria Alpi

Toxic Europe è il risultato di un’ inchiesta portata avanti a livello europeo da un team internazionale di giornalisti. Il film tratta del traffico illegale di rifiuti tossici, e di come questo sia un business sempre più remunerativo per la criminalità organizzata italiana e non.

I meccanismi, le strategie di trasporto e quelle di smaltimento, le conseguenze sull’ambiente, sulla popolazione e sulla società sono il tema del racconto di questo film.

Toxic Europe è prodotto nell’ambito del concorso “Best International Organised Crime Report Award 2011″: è uno dei quattro documentari finalisti che saranno proiettati al Premio Ilaria Alpi dove verrà annunciato il vincitore.

E’ prodotto con il contributo di Flare network, Associazione Ilaria Alpi, Novaya Gazeta, DailyBlog.it ed AGI (Associazione di Giornalismo Investigativo), purtroppo però il contributo non è sufficiente a coprire le spese del progetto.

Per questo Toxic Europe ha bisogno del sostegno dei singoli cittadini, tramite il crowd-funding.

Il crowd-funding è un meccanismo grazie al quale, con la prenotazione on-line di una copia del DVD del film, si possono sostenere “dal basso” le spese che gli autori devono affrontare. Si tratta anche di uno dei pochissimi sistemi a disposizione del giornalismo indipendente per autofinanziarsi.

The investigative documentary ‘Toxic Europe’ is ready: the premiere will be on the 18th of June at the Premio Ilaria Alpi festival.

Toxic Europe is the result of a European-lead journalistic investigation, brought on by an international team of journalists. The movie talks about the illegal trafficking of hazardous waste: an increasingly lucrative business mainly for the Italian organised crime.

The mechanisms, the strategies of transport and disposal, the consequences on the environment, on people and society are the theme of this film.

Toxic Europe is produced within “The Best International Organised Crime Report Award 2011″ competition: it is one of the four finalist documentaries that will be projected at the Premio Ilaria Alpi festival when the winner will be announced.

The movie is produced with the contribution of Flare Network, Associazione Ilaria Alpi, Novaya Gazeta, DailyBlog.it e Associazione Giornalismo Investigativo (AGI). Unfortunately this contribution is not enough to cover all the expenses of the project.

This is why Toxic Europe needs the help of citizens, through crowd-funding. A mechanism through which, with the online booking of a copy of the movie’s DVD, any citizen can become co-producer and finance projects of independent journalism.
